I put a real app on the App Store

#apps#swift#games

I made a game called Kaboom Tower. You stack blocks as high as you can, and then — kaboom — the whole thing falls over.

How it started

I was building a tower out of wooden blocks and my little tower fell over for the eleventh time. I thought: what if the falling over was the fun part?

The tricky bit

Making the blocks fall over properly was hard. At first they just slid around like they were on ice. I had to learn about physics and friction, which is basically how sticky things are.

What I learned

  1. Start with the smallest version that works
  2. Test it on a real phone, not just the simulator
  3. Ask for help before you get stuck for an hour, not after

It’s on the App Store now. My name is on it. That’s pretty cool. 😎
